How did that title (above) come about?

This week, Monday and Tuesday - work as per normal of course. Wednesday morning, my wife and I fell ill. Together. Must be something very bad we ate. In addition to that, I have a bad throat now. We decided to go to the polyclinic instead of the neighbourhood GP. The whole experience at the polyclinic took our entire morning away!

It was very crowded as always.

I was amused by this sign.

Yes. Very long indeed. See I remembered to underline AND bold those words.

But all in all, cheap of course. $12 per person. The wait is just horrible. Wait to register > wait for doctor > wait for payment > wait for prescription to be filled. Sheesh. It was a little interesting experience though. There were two old ladies talking very loudly in Hokkein to each other. (notice how old folks just speak to each other, though strangers they are, all so easily?) One was even asking the other, very loudly, how much her children give her for pocket money. $200 it seems. And guess what the son was seated just a few rows behind, arms crossed and frowning I’d say. We finally left the clinic close to 12pm. We were there at about 8am+.

At the end of the day, we felt a little more rested and better, and I was telling my wife - wouldn’t it be so lovely to work 2 days, rest 1, work 2 days and then rest 2 days again? It seems to break the work week nicely ya…

Well we can all have our little dreams.

I never thought of going to the polyclicnic when I fall sick. I just want to see the doctor fast and go home to sleep.
