So finally here’s the break away from work. The last work week was crazy - my day ending 1-3am everyday. Oh pressies received so far - not many but well who’s counting.

• a small heap of chocolates
• a Spongebob keychain
• a Spongebob notebook (very nice! can’t even bear to use this)
• and my favourite - Patrick Star, a little stuffed toy from Bee, a senior AM who is sadly leaving us soon

Erm well I guess its apparent I do like Spongebobby Squarepants.
Hope I somehow get a new phone this Christmas - I am kinda giving up on the Treo. But I kinda doubt this…

But suddenly presents don’t seem that important anymore.

I learnt that a colleague’s sister passed away and his mother on her deathbed. I felt very bad as I was chasing him to sign some stuff and follow up on some work. So that’s tough - he’s in a very tough situation but I just wanted the project to work. That’s the shitty thing about being a project manager - stuck in the middle, trying to please everyone while pushing them to get things done. Sigh. I keep thinking about him and how insensitive I was - YET I am still needing that quote signed and client to approve the model… I think I have to let this go for now…

I also heard from a close friend that his sister-in-law is on life support in hospital. She is only 28 years old, very recently married, and more recently gave birth to her first child. She may be pronounced dead today. One will just feel very helpess in this situation - you’d never know the right thing to say, or what can one do to help with the pain…

For all the above to happen during this season, it’s just really sad - especially to have people all around you celebrating. Strong reminders that life is so fragile, not to take things for granted, live life to the fullest and treasure our loved ones.
