iPhone in MY hand!

Lookie! iPhone in my hand! But alas, not mine. I am glad to have had a chance to play with it though… ! There are THREE people in my office with an iPhone now… *envy*
OK first thoughts - it’s slimmer and smaller than I thought. It fits nicely in one’s hand. The multi-touch thing is cool, and the orientation sensor to rotate content to landscape from portrait (and vice versa) is awesome. Coverflow is really nice to TOUCH/work with, and Apple’s elegant simplicity just shines through every part of the UI.
One of the first things I tried was the keyboard and well I couldn’t even type “the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” without getting a little frustrated. Sure it will get better as you use it, but I think I’d prefer a thumdpad/keyboard anytime… my Treo allows me to write a lot without hesitation and given how much I love to write, I think it’s one major area of contention for me.
Safari was awesome though the Internet connectivity was too slow (over wifi) to really enjoy it. Somehow Youtube wasn’t working as well.
I can get one for S$1k. I am just not sure as I usually never buy 1st generation products, and the text input irks me for now. I guess I’d patiently wait for the next iPhone, but till then, though my time with it was short, it was good.
