Just updated my Nuvi to the latest version, and I was intrigued by the changelog, particularly the last two under 3.90 to 4.30:

  • Fixed issue with max volume to stop over driving the speakers and blowing them out
  • Fixed issue where dense roads with Cyclops cameras were starving unit

The first one above is ok I guess - but the second one is just bizarre!

there’s a possibility when drawing a lot of cyclops cameras, it takes a lot of resources from the unit itself. a GPN unit normally comes with a limited amount of memory and limited processing power (compared to our kick ass MBP), so starvation happens when resources are maxed out. This could be because of programming error, sloppy codes, inefficient algorithm, etc.

Well ya I am sure there is a technical reason - the copy could be more refined. Must be written by the engineer. :P
