New toy!

For that device you carry EVERYWHERE in your life - would you want something new - and spend the time trying to get used to its quirks and lots of time to port over all your data? Sacrifice usability and speed for something more powerful yet more unwieldy and with lots of usability issues?

Well I did that. After being spoilt by the ease of Palm OS for the past many years, I ditched the Palm platform (even a new BLACK Centro which i imported in from HK but didnt use - still avail for sale BTW) for the Samsung i780.

i780

I’d write more about it… but the i780 is like a difficult mistress who can give you the best pleasure but at a price of your sanity at times… when she decides to throw her tantrums (3 hard resets so far - oh let’s not go into the details), blank out the screen (augh) and lose my data (failed restore from backup)… on the flip side, she makes you smile with her sexy body (ahem), HSDPA goodness (with my new 50gb Singtel Broadband on Mobile 1.8mbit plan), stable WIFI, decent QWERTY hard keyboard and built in GPS (though with shitty AGIS Navfone which is a joke)… I’d admit all the above is due to me stressing her out to the max.. forcing RealVGA on her, installing everything and anything… etc…

If only she has a transflective screen (v hard to read outdoors - no review has stated that) and WM6.1 (only for its native threaded SMS app)… I’d be v happy with this babe in my pocket.

So this is my new love… till the 3G iPhone hits us… but for now, it’s starting to get cosy…

And no, I am NOT the one taking Korean lessons :)

I hope you’re not using the default screen protector - simply CMI.

The top section (date/time) takes up a fair bit of space. But GPRS Monitor is good :)
