To office, in a train!
Published July 15th, 2008 in day to dayThe car is in a workshop. ’nuff said about that.
So this morning I took the train to work. In one sentence - hey it’s not as bad as I thought it would be! Some context - I haven’t taken the train in a really long time… Let me go on…
I left at about 7.45am, the usual time I leave when I drive as well. Went to the LRT and realised my EZLink card had a negative value (hmmm?). Topped it up and took the LRT - brrr it was so cold - to the MRT station. I had my DS in one pocket, my iPod Touch (iTouch for you acidz :P) and my phone in the other. I had so many choices to be entertained! I plugged in and started my journey with my 5 star playlist. When I got to the MRT station, I was surprised that it wasn’t as crowded as ~2 years back before I started driving to work ‘full-time’. Wifey and I got a seat easily. I quickly checked my schedule for today and made some notes on my i780, then I pulled out my DS and waged battle in Advance Wars. I was about to capture another building when wifey nudged me - it was time to alight! Wow. Time just flew…. Anyway I noticed that the train wasn’t as packed as before… particularly the NEL line. The train to Raffles Place came quickly but I was a little slow and nearly couldn’t board the train. I had to squeeze myself in. A little amazing how physically close you can get to strangers sometimes.
So I got to the office early - reaching Raffles Place about 8.35am. I began the day with a game, some great music and no stress crawling through TPE - generally dealing with the peak traffic… it was great! My rav can take a good rest in the workshop… so far this driver is happy to let someone else do the driving, and I have more time to entertain myself. ![]()
